The Journey To Tucson, AZ! Jan. 4th, 2015

After a relatively uneventful start of our journey, well about 15 minutes of uneventful we made it to the interstate. As we were going over one of the bridges some lady pulls up next to us in her car honking and frantically waving for us to pull over. The wind was terrible that day and we immediately pulled over to see what the problem was. One of our two bicycles had come loose from the bike rack and was dragging behind our car that we tow. Wore my front tire down through the tube and also damaged the wheel. She was kind enough to help us secure the bike despite the very high winds and heavy I-45 traffic screaming by. Thank you again lady,...whoever you are!
Our first stop on this leg of the journey is Buckhorn Lake RV Resort in Kerrville, TX. This is a very nice resort but it is basically all by itself right off I-10. The park is nice and even nicer is the private area with owned RV lots for Class A motorcoach owners only. Kathy's cousin and my friend Harvey Roof came to visit us from the Austin area and we went out to dinner in Kerrville. Only one night there and then off to another favorite stop for us, Balmorhea State Park, TX. We really love this desert park complete with spring fed large swimming pool. This will be our third visit to the great state park and we highly recommend this place if you are in the area. The pull through sites are nice, you may get greeted by a roadrunner, and you will love the sunsets and the star filled night sky.

The spring fed 72 degree swimming pool, complete with fish is nice, and a popular place for scuba diver training classes.

Our third night was in Deming, NM which is nothing to get too excited about, but the "Dreamcatcher RV Park is a fine place to spend the night. It is an "Escapees" park, so members get a discount...and we all love discounts, right?

The mountains of the Deming area did make for some nice views from the motorhome.
