Las Vegas, Nevada - Las Vegas RV Resort - Week 1

Las Vegas RV Resort - Site 358
Feb. 8, 2009 (Sunday)
Up and onward. Headed for Las Vegas via 95 through the east side of California. Very barren empty land for hundreds of miles. Sure glad we didn’t have any mechanical problems on that stretch. Stopped in Needles for lunch - Bruce noticed that one of the trailer tires was split in the tread! A real miracle that it had not blown and that he saw it. He put on the spare and we made it into Vegas with any issue!  Shew!! Linda and Phil Slabaugh are here and were awaiting our arrival. We are in site 358, the row right behind them. Park looks the same as last year except a new sign with the new name - Las Vegas RV Resort.

Cool and cloudy, already missing the weather in the Rio Grande Valley!

Feb 12, 2009 (Thursday)
Went with Linda to Curves. Had a good workout! Going to try it a few times to see if I’ll stick to it.

Feb 14, 2009 (Saturday)
Went to a Doobie Brothers Concert at the Hilton. A fun concert, and as usual, a great time watching people. Didn’t know that there were so many old hippies still hanging out. Before the concert ate at the buffet at the Hilton, was good but not $19 worth.

Las Vegas, Nevada - Last Week

March 3, 2009 (Tuesday)
Linda and I went to Curves for our morning work-out. I’ve really enjoyed the work-out and Linda is a very sweet lady. We took Phil and Linda to the motorcycle shop, Arlen Ness Cycles. They allowed us to go through the customization shop where they work on the cycles. Even told us to sit on the cycles, which Phil was happy to oblige them.  Back to the park, spent a little time in the pool and it was wonderful! We took Phil and Linda to dinner at Ellis Island Casino, they have great steak dinners for only $7.99.

One last trip to the Strip before we leave. It seemed very crowded, especially considering that the economy is so bad. Penny slots were busy and most of the $1 were empty, guess people have just downsized what they gamble. Bruce did pretty good tonight, started out with $20 and he left with $50. I left them a $20, guess since we don't gamble big it's harder to win big. Headed back to Lawton tomorrow, missing family and friends!

Las Vegas, Nevada - Week 2

Feb 18, 2009 (Wednesday)
Went for our first night out on the Strip. Parked behind Imperial Palace and took several halls to get to the casino. Feared that we’d never find the pickup again but it is a great place to park, midway down the strip. Went over to the Caesars Palace. I love walking through the Forum Shops and also the La Salsa margaritas! Played some penny machines here and there, walked through the Fashion Mall, had dinner there, walked and played some more, lost some more. We were able to find the pickup and managed to get a blister on the bottom of my left foot. Guess that means we walked quite a bit! Weather is finally warming up some and forecast is for the week to continue warming!! Hurrah!

Yesterday Linda and I did my 4th visit to Curves, I'm really enjoying our workouts. Today we went running around with Phil and Linda. We went to In and Out Burger, they were so sweet and treated us since I’d helped Linda figure out her business card program. On to the Galleria Mall, Bruce got a haircut at Master Cut and they did a good job of it. Last stop was Costco, they are spoiling us, bought us sundaes while there.
